LG International practiced corporate social responsibility by reconstructing a sturdy bridge in Indonesia.

LG International replaced a falling wooden bridge with a stone bridge near the company’s palm plantation area located in Sekadau, Western Kalimantan, Indonesia.

The former bridges were severely damaged and worn but being used as the main route to 8 elementary, middle and high school which could have led to accidents.

Yudi(30) said “I am very glad a new bridge is being donated to the community”, and added “There is no longer a need to worry whenever crossing the bridge”.

The construction expense of the newly built bridge was completely supplemented by voluntary donation by LGI employees. The company has been running a matching-grant donation system from 2012 where LGI donates the equivalent amount the employees donates for community.

An LGI official said, “We expect replacement of the bridge will help improve safety and convenience of community residents”. “We plan to constantly put additional efforts to practice social contribution as a good example” he added.

LG International has been actively practicing a variety of social responsibility activities such as free meal delivery, support for restoration from natural disasters, scholarship award, sponsoring sporting and culture activities.
