LGI Delivers Lunch Box to Marginalized Children.

  • - Employees prepared packed lunch for 150 marginalized children
  • - Through the company’s volunteer service guarantee system,
the employees were encouraged to join community service projects
  • - The company is implementing the matching grant system to expand its CSR activities

LGI is giving away lunch packed in lunchboxes (“lunchboxes”) to marginalized children as part of its community outreach efforts. Employees volunteered to raise the funds needed to prepare the lunchboxes, and to deliver them to children from financially challenged homes.

Employees have been donating a fraction of their salaries for charitable activities since September 2012. With the funds estimated at around KRW110 million, they have provided lunchboxes to 150 marginalized children on five occasions per week since the end of last year. They went to welfare facilities and prepared and packed the lunchboxes there.

The company implements the weekday employee volunteer service guarantee system with a maximum volunteer service time of eight hours per day. This company policy was established to encourage the employees to positively engage in community volunteer services. This campaign does not only raise funds but also involves the employees in corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities associated with community outreach services.

Furthermore, LGI implements the matching grant system. Under this system, the company donates funds equivalent to the employees’ donations to further boost its community outreach activities. The funds raised through the matching grant system will be used to improve the infrastructure for the residents in the company’s overseas business areas, among other community development activities.
